Missing something in Mage Towers

Key, or possibly a switch that opens something that leads to the key.

- knocked out everyone everywhere. Can't get into the towers, the lone door at the
top of the stairs, the elemental doors at the base of each tower or two locked chests
in the basement.

- I've searched in every square inch of the place multiple times and read every note,
scroll and book, activated and listened to the statues in the library for a clue.

- Never had this trouble before. What am I missing ?? - Is it possible this bloody HD
mod has broken the game?


Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The water tower should already be open on the ground floor, just go there first (I realize this makes no sense since the scrolls talk about the hazard in there)

Nothing's open. All of the silver doors are impassable.

Went back to Mage Towers, beelined the water tower and just pressed use key on the door itself; it opened:

I'm using the latest TFix but I think if you can't do that then something is indeed broken

It worked ! - Don't know what happened except that I wasted 3 1/2 hrs of game
play. Thanks for the help ! 8 )

Thinking of the mage tower, kinda wish they implemented some rng as to which tower is open and the keys they unlocked. Would make replaying interesting.

Surely there's some kind of randomizer mod to accomplish this
