- the GOG version
- the steam version with the contents of the TFix lite archive extracted into the TG folder, overwriting all
- the steam version patched with TFix full (a patcher that probably needs windows to run)
once your game is up to date, you should be able to run in via proton or wine with little issue.
Update:
I just downloaded my GOG version of TG and installed it outside of Steam just using wine and it's working perfect. So far I haven't needed a patch or even proton, and I would have no idea how to use proton outside of Steam. Is that possible? Thanks again. And I would still appreciate a link to the patch if you know where I can it that even though I haven't needed it yet.
Out of curiosity, why is the Steam version of TG less reliable than the GOG version?
no idea whether the patcher[www.ttlg.com] will run/work under wine, feel free to try. if not, you can patch the game on a windows machine, and then move the now patched install to the linux machine and run it with wine as mentioned.
My first Video Guide! woohoo! :p
