Buying tracks and cars

Is it just me or are the tracks and cars a bit expensive...just buying a single car is more then 200 points and a track is roughly 500 points while 2000 points cost 20 something dollars.
So, for rougly 20 dollars you get 4 tracks then if you want the rest well...im not in the mood to coulculate the total cost of all the content in the game but...its gona cost you!
I just looked into the game i admit...and its still in beta, i know...but dont you guys think the developer should perhabs rethink there selling model?

Simraceway is also expensive when buying cars.
Personally i don't like this model cause if the service shuts down then i lose my game & purchases.
I also don't like you can't buy it through steam like other simbin titles.
Lastly, i JUST got the 50% off sale pop up, why i didn't get it earlier is a good question.

P.S. i am wondering when GTR3 will be released & will it be like this ? i hope not like this model.

You can buy it through steam, add funds to the steam accound to buy vRP.
During the weekend sale i spent 2000 vRP (17 EUR). This is what I got:

Cars:
* Pagani Zonda
* McLaren-Mercedes SLR
* McLaren MP4-12C
* Koeningsegg CCGT
* Ford Mustang GT
* Ford GT3
* BMW M3 E30
* Audi R8
Tracks:
* Suzuka Curcuit
* RaceRoom Hillclimb
* Monza Circuit
* Mazda Laguna Seca

17 EUR = 8 cars and 4 tracks.

IMO it's not that bad.

I did find it expensive but I'll treat myself when the sales start. I've kept £40 a side for this Sim alone, for that price in the sale you can buy loads of games to last you a full year or more.

remeber this game is free to play for the base package so even with 50% off its still nothiing , id keep my eye out for vrp offers and other offers that simbin make as im not sure the steam sales will have the desired effects .... but i may be wrong

ok, that all is ok. yes, it is a bit expensive but very nice! not ok is that i can NOT play after 16:00 o'clock. this fantastic game is a internet-addict and this is the dark side. afterworks at 18:00 o'clock i can NOT play this game!!! 5 stars for the performance - - - minus 6 stars for the userbility!!!

because the game won't start when the servers are full. everybody want to play after the work. so this is usually between 16:00 and 18:00. but today is everything fine. ;-)

i dont believe that is the case ... i think there must be another issue there ... but i may be wrong / remember your 16:00-18:00 isnt the same as everyone else's so where are you in the world ?

This raises a very important question wich SimBin failed to awnser for way too long now ..
How long and what garuntees do we have that the service will stay up and running?

2 yrs, 5 yr plan? Please enlighten us so we can decide if we want to invest more money into this product. :)

magicmazuma.................THATS why i don't like these kinds of models.......ppl think it's free BUT when u look CLOSE it's FAR from it & in the end it's WORSE then arcade games that eventually are being (re)sold>>>i don't see these type of games EVER being "re-released" again EVER !!!
server side games ARE to me a FAIL....release the "old school style where i can play it again without the need of a server/server side help.

For me to go in on this, it would have to sell ALL of it for like 10-15$......then i "might" not care SINCE it's server side & could shut down..
JUST GIVE me GTR3, old school style, otherwise i WILL Abanedon Simbin.....i don't want to.....but it's UR CALL !!!

LASTLY>>> been noticing my fav racing games getting ALL screwed up...gt5 sucked.....forza getting greedy.....& others doing this free to play BS model......

You guys really don't see the irony in writing something like this on STEAM? ;)
Nobody can guarantee that steam will still be here tomorrow, or Itunes or or or...

@magic: Remember it's not Simbin who runs this show, it's Raceroom, and I think they are going to use this platform for a rather long time.

no, you're right! lucky it's not the case and i like this game. it's between hardore sim and arcade. and it flows better than my rFactor 2. i have a LGA 775 machine! but please SIMBIN make the great content a bit cheaper!
