So, it can be a problem with your provider's DNS servers and/or with your "hosts" file. Hosts file is located here: "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts"
I have the same problem. What have you done?
Please try the following to see if it helps.
- Open command prompt as administrator.
- type ipconfig /flushdns.
ipconfig /flushdns as admin makes also no change. :-( The problem is still alive.
Please add these lines to your hosts file in "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts"
5.9.73.132 protection1.raceroomracing.com
85.10.209.250 protection2.raceroomracing.com
Or
Change content.config and replace server names with their IP addresses
Content folder is by default under your Steam folder Steam\SteamApps\common\raceroom racing experience\game
You can open content.config with notepad and change the name with the IP address provided.
Let us know if it helps.
I have add the two lines in the hosts and in the content.config.
Sorry, no change.
Whitout the entries i can ping the name protection1.raceroomracing.com and become an request/answer.
Sure, the problem is a DNS-name problem?
Add R3E Exe to the exception list on your firewall. If already on the list, make sure it is allowed to make connection.
- Open your control panel.
- Click on Windows Firewall.
- Click on the Allow a program through Windows Firewall link in the left blue pane.
- Click on the Change Settings button.
- Find the RaceRoom Racing Experience from the list and tick the necessary boxes to allow connection.
Ensure Windows UAC is not blocking the game from working properly.
To test this, you will have to disable UAC for a while.
- Go to your control panel.
- Choose User Accounts and Family Safety and then User Accounts.
- Click on Change User Account Control Settings link.
- Slide the bar down to Never Notify.
- Click OK to apply the change and restart your computer.
After testing, follow the steps again and slide the bar back to its default/preferred location.

Google Public DNS:
https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/
I use this, it is configured in my router. You can configure the DNS in the Network Properties for IPv4 if you don't use a router.
@zbobg: I configured the two google DNS Server in my router without success, too.
I disable the firewall and the antivir. I have a new installation. The problem is still alive. All other Steam-Games run very well. Before the Update, raceroom runs very well too.
I don´t know..
May I ask what antivirus it was? Also does the problem come back if you reinstall your antivirus?
I have the same problem, but i can remember my Avast Internet Security makes a big update and today it won´t start anymore.
I think this is the problem. What can i do now ?
