Conrad925 - i was thinking that perhaps I'm driving in Get Real mode but am challenging an Amateur ghost car. I believe I challenged two different drivers and had similar results.
I'll look at my settings and report back. Thanks for you input.
Also, I'm driving the car stock. Do you know that if you purchase cars and tracks that you can change the setup of the car? If so this could explain large time differences. I'm terrible at car setups and so I generally run game stock setups.
When I challenged a Get Real lap time, things were very different and the ghost car was taking all appropriate lines.
Also, learned that you can adjust your car setup settings. Going to have to try and find a good Youtube video that explains all the different settings.
There are plenty of programs on line that explain what different setting do...having said that, the top guys will all tell you that 95% of all improvement comes from practice. Use the default settings in any sim' and practice lap after lap after lap.10sec's even 20 sec's improvement over say, 60 laps, from your first couple of laps, is not unusual. Toe, camber, caster, bump, springs, etc etc etc should only be changed after you have found your limit on the default settings. You have to get to the point where you can put in multipul laps within 00:00.010 to 00:00.150 of each other. You may be happy with what you have achieved, getting decent results in races. is enough for most people. If you want to really shine, then you can start tweaking,,,don't expect anywhere near the improvements you got with practice though; if you have got to the point where you are 3 or 4 seconds behind the really fast drivers, equalling them will be very hard going...I gave up years ago. :) The thing is, if you have got a decent base time you can get podium places on occasions...like Alonso says "Sunday is the day that matters"....ln F1 that is. :)
