RaceRoom Racing Experience

Car setups
I would like to ask that for the next update you include the car setups save/ load function. It's serriously annoying to have to reset all of the setups for each racetrack when most of the time besides the gearing for most of the tracks, the setup would work just fine on every configuration of that track and also tracks that are almost the same "speed". I want to be able to take one setup from Suzuka and use it on Hungararing, have the ability to tweak it and then save it and name it Hungararing. That way i know what setup goes where and I want to be able to choose the setup before I start the session. If I need to get some drifting out of my system in the Saleen GT1 car I need to be able to name a setup "Drifting".

Do you think that's possible?

(I'm also a little less than amused that the 6.4GB update was a patch for a $40 game that I probably wont ever buy. It seems 80% of your effort in the last 4-5 months was focused on a game that very well could be fun but honestly probably wasnt worth the time and cost when you could have been reaping the benefits of getting R3E out onto it's finalized stages.)

+1

I would also like to see a setup guide/tutorial for those less familiar with how to tweak the setups(like me) or how tweaking any car part affects the car.

Your "wishlist" looks very possible, if you haven't been too naughty this year, maybe Santa Simbin will bring you what you desire. =)

DTMX: I think it's hilarious too, especialy when people already payed for a track and now they are supposed to pay for it again, just with different adboards. We've obviously reached the point where now the customer is supposed to pay for advertisment, ridiculous.

BUT, and I've said this many times so I won't go into any more details, decision are obviously made by Raceroom, not Simbin. And I think we all have to take into account the process of licensing. The DTM as an organisation are the licensor here and they obviously don't want to see their product/brand being flogged for pennies, they certainly had their say in the process of pricing.
It's very difficult terrain Simbin/Raceroom are trying to maneuver and whilst the basic ideas are good, the execution is not on a par at this moment. Let's hope those are growing pains on an otherwise ambitious and promising project.

There are many guides written by community members. But when they released GTR, Simbin also released a guide called "GTR Engineers Handbook" which explains all the setup options in detail and which I found to very helpful. You can find it on the net or if you don't, get back to me and I'll upload it for you.

+1 for the link to the setup handbook.

Also thank you christian that makes a lot of sense and I didnt understand that part of the game correctly. I had automatically assumed RR was a project of Simbin and not a partnership.

It's been two years and still no option to save setups? I just recently discovered R3E and I have enjoyed it immensely, but having no option to save and load setups is just weird. It's probably my only critique of this game (aside from just a bit too aggressive AI).

Ok, I read elsewhere that saving setups is being worked on. So should be any day now ;)
