You´ll get Game Stock Car and Assetto Corsa for this money.
But you choose a bad example I think, the price for the DTM packs is yet OK.
fact is:
I have bought RR-content >100€ and the "ADAC GT Masters 2013 pack" ..as well, of course...
beside other cars, the ADAC pack has
- AUDI R8 LMS Ultra GT3
- BMW Z4 GT3
- Mercedes SLS AMG GT3
And now, Sir, please explain why I have to buy the cars mentioned above "again", just with a reskin, so that I am able to race GT3 class online in multiplayer ?
That is a **** joke, really...
The multiplayer is still missing fundamental features (Race07) but it's awesome for alpha.
It has some nice features already (slow car ghost, very good penalty system, reverse/idiot driver ghost..really nice.. and the public mp gameplay I have seen so far, has always been huge fun, mature drivers....less wreckers as in Race07 ...all good for a beta...
but with all the ingame-purchases it will get harder and harder to just find players in multiplayer .... people who have the same content, people who race this game at the same time ...
league-organisation, seems to be the only way to go concerning mp if they don't change the price/pack thing, like it is now... but maybe in the future things will change.
Championship will be implemented to R3E eventually.
I made this example just to show the pricing for quite a lot of good tracks, and one car in every class. (so you can race every class in multiplayer)
There are a lots of better ways to combine it if you don't want to buy it all imo!
All in the matter of liking.
Dedicated servers will surely come as well.
For the skins the ADAC is a licensed GT3 league, and you only need to buy one skin to join a GT3 multiplayer race. That's the price of a cheeseburger..
True is, they share the same bodywork, but they have different physics. With the GT3 cars you are 2 seconds slower than with the same ADAC GT Master car.
Z4 was even less then a cheesburger btw. (0,75 €)..but that was not my point ;)
I understand the issue concerning licensed content...oh well!...strange
Hopefully some day the ADAC GT Masters Series will be as completed as DTM 13/14 is.
I'd really like to see championship possibility.
Some day we will have to pay for "fuel" (consumable content) in the game/sim ;)
50 litres = 0,9 € ;) ..just kidding, well... "the hunter" anyone ? ;)
But surely they will also add a customizable championship in R3E as well in the future.
Yes. A few month ago there were two competitions on the same track (Nürburgring). One for the ADAC GT Masters and the other for the GT3 class. It shows the ADAC cars were 1-2s faster.
It's not the pricing that's wrong. It's their whole business model.
They haven't developed a "F2P" game and business model. Instead they've taken an (unfinished) pay to play title and chopped it up into pieces.
They don't even have any significant "free" content.
The point about free to play is leveraging free players to create a player base. They haven't achieved that.
All of the base content, cars and tracks, should be free. These are not what makes the game valuable. It's the experience of playing that people pay for.
They've invented a fake currency, but there's no economy in the game.
If you look at games like Team Fortress 2 you'd see how Free 2 play works. TF2 don't sell the maps, they don't sell the stock weapons. Everyone, whether they've paid or not can play the game with each other. That creates thousands of full servers with people playing.
But it's moot, there are better pay to play sim titles on steam now.
Although I suppose with a DTM 2013 being a couple of quid on sale, you could argue it's priced about right - but once again, that's the legacy of simbin since the days of Race pro, instead of releasing AAA, high quality desirable content, they are developing stuff for the bargain bin.
It seems that even the change of name hasn't changed that.
I took a look and think that taking the WTCC and ADAC packs together as a minimum for a reasonable game experience, then at a cost of around £22 for both, this seems about right to me, so I hope that these discounts for buying the packs are not just for a limited time.
And pack discounts.
