tyre wear
I tried some SP races with tyre wear on and noticed my times were ~2s slower even in the first laps. Is it a different compound? It didn't caused any troubles with WTCC & ADAC GT, but with the M1 Procar on Laguna Seca the car had massive understeer or maybe something else so I had to slow down an exagerated amount to be able to turn - tyres were at 95%.

They have to fix the bug first.

Of course, thanks!
Just hope it doesn't take too long.
I keep getting stuck reading the numbers whenever I glancing in the rear mirrors, and ending up in the walls.. . ;)
Okay, I have to correct my statement. The option tyre has more grip and is faster than the prime tyre. My fault.
I've just tried the ADAC SLS on Monza, 15min, only modifying wings to 1/6.

1st time I was at 95% front tyres at half the race (I drove as usual with many lock-ups) - soon I became a sitting duck - I ended last with 89/90% on fronts and 95/96% on rears. But this revealed a problem: testing on straights - when I applied steering the car "refused" and steered just a tiny bit (ok - expected), but when I recentered the steering wheel the car didn't continued to the new direction and was pushed back to the initial direction.

2nd time I tried not to lock-up (still did) and fronts reached 95% after 11min. I resisted in 7th until last lap when I reached 90/92% fronts and finished 12th. :P

I'll try some more on tracks I drive better.
If the tire wear is to extreme on the R3E cars I can discuss it with the physics guy. But only after normal racing and no donuts.
I did a 21 lap race with the DTM 2014 cars on Hockenheimring. My pit stop was on lap 11 (over 17 minutes in the race) and the prime tires were between 97 - 98%. The option tires were on the last lap also between 97 - 98%. I won the race from position 12. So for me everything is okay, or I'm a tyre whisperer.^^

That's very good, better than me.
I only destroyed the prime tyres on the run up into the pit. Big lock up, but I didn't need them anymore. XD
I suck at conserving tyres so probably their degradation it's ok; I can revert to tyre wear off anytime...
I've played another 3 races and here are the end results for the fronts:
- ADAC SLS - Hockenheim - 88/90%
- Alpina B6 - Monza - 95/96% (ABS surely helped)
- WTCC Cruze - Hungaroring - 92/95% (but handling was ok here and I won :D)

So I think the degradation it's fine, but the decrease of grip is too steep from 95% onward.

@DirtyChaos - please try some ADAC races.

I will look at it.
Okay, I did a 15 minutes race with the ADAC GT Masters. I drove the Audi R8 on the Red Bull Ring with a rolling start. At the end all my tyres were by 96%.

First lap in the video is around the third lap in a 15 minutes race. Second lap is the last lap in the same race. For settings see my screenshot. I had the same issue in a previous race on Portimao where the last 2 laps were extremely slow and with a lot of understeer. I deactivated the tyre wear and did a third race on Oschersleben and didn't had the problem at all. No extreme understeer and no blocked wheels even at the smallest brake attempts. I lost my 24 seconds gap in only 2 laps and, of course, the race. My front tyres, if I remember correctly, were below 90% and I know this is far beyond the lifespan of the tyre. But the wearing in general is just way too much. They don't do tyre change in the ADAC GT Masters, it's not even allowed except when you have a flatout or other damages on your wheels.

Car: BMW Z4 GT3 (ADAC GT Masters 2013 Expansion)
Track: Zandvoort GP
Wheel: G27
Mode: Get Real
Car settings: Standard except for the gear ratio

The only solution for me is to disable the tyre wear. But thats not how the game is meant to be played I suppose.

You need to take care of your tires, it costs to be aggressive now! ;)
This was a 15 minutes race, and my guess is that the tire wear is scaled to that time.
The video shows no information.
It could also be connected with the standard setup, that doesn't match with your driving style. And therefore your are using to much tyre. My setup is far away from the standard setup, but matches with my driving style. And like I said above I only used 4% of the tyres and the AI was sat at 105%. So maybe my setup need less tyre or I'm driving smoother. I think I will upload my race with the Audi on the Red Bull Ring. Maybe it would help.

Say Peter, is the tyre wear also simulated for the AI cars? Because in the last laps of the race I could gain a lead of the AI. But my lap time was the same, so I think the AI got into trouble with the tyres.
I thought so, need to check that.
