I doubt that it will be mod-able, so we'll be limited to the features the devs give us.
I think RF2 is a friggin' mess right now. Runs like crap. In the LONG term, I'd go with RF2, though. The mod community will make it worth the money.
It runs pretty bad unless you have a high-end machine.
But there's SO much to do already. Tons of online races, and you can race AI or run time attacks, etc
i run the demo on max settings i guess i will buy a year and see how i like it
I'm not convinced by RF2, performance isn't great (on my machine, which isn't lo-end) and there's not much "official" content. Of course there's mods but they rise and fall with the talent of the modder and most of them just don't do it for me. And 85$s ain't that cheap either.

Because of the sales, I've got more R3E content for $30 than RF2 official content for $85.
But, I feel that I paid $85 so I could drive Targa Florio. And I'm ok with that.
To lazy to do the math now. ;) Sure it's expensive, never doubted that. But if you got everything you'd already have more (and imo more interesting) content compared to RF2 plus an official racing series. If you got all the sales that have been run up to now you might be well under 80$, excluding DTMX that is of course.
Not trying to slag off RF2, it's a nice product. But if Simbin manage to introduce the missing core features (SP/MP) in a favourable way, it will be a great platform.
The community is quite dead atm, as well, compared to even the more obscure titles such as GSC2013. There is hardly any activity on here or on other popular sim racing websites. Simbin needs to step it up and release something big and exciting. There always is time to get it right. If the end product turns out great, is priced ok and people enjoy it,it will grow and gain popularity fast and become a success no doubt. Will be interesting to see how 2014 will turn out for R3E.
