Thanks, I realise this was obvious really, but it just seems like a slightly odd way to sell content. So thank you for your clarification.
Why isn't it?
Raceroom you can spend 30-50 bucks to get you the majority of what you will need to race completely. Let's not even mention that you don't own that with iracing once your subscription goes out.
Let's not forget that you still get discounts if you already own some of the content. The upcoming DTM packs, both 1995 and 2024, will likely be discounted if you already own the other cars. You'll only be paying for the new cars and it will be cheaper than buying those new cars individually.
I don't think there's a game that does this better than Raceroom, RF2 packs are an absolute disaster, AMS2 also punishes you (and harder) for getting stuff earlier, ACC works similarly to AMS2 but with less discounts, we don't know what will be of LMU's season pass, and so on.
For the price of a AAA base game you can buy everything in this game (excluding the 296 likely due to licensing, but get it with a discount if you buy a DTM pack). There's no other game that gives you as much as Raceroom does for your money.
Early adoption always costs more, it sucks but that's how it works.
To be fair, the amount of content keeps increasing so it was a bit strange that the premium pack kept the same value for so long, it's possible that it's also adjusted to inflation, etc, etc...
You can still buy the $75, $17 and $10 VRP packs and it's a bit cheaper than buying the premium pack directly through the game and save about $5~$6.
Still, for the amount of content you get it's still better value than other games's equivalent to Raceroom's premium pack.
However, keep in mind the DTM 2024 content and the new laser scanned Oschersleben isn't out yet but will be available "a bit later". Might be worth it waiting for those if you're interested, as long as they don't do a Ferrari 296 moment with the Lambo...
