And start over
There's a whole topic on how the adaptive AI works on the official forums, as well as a guide on how to "prime" it for the best results.
No AI is a good "learning tool" for online events. Learning to race against a bunch of AI that drive in a nice clean procession around a track is literally worthless. Humans are unpredictable by nature, and armchair racers can and will do stupid things and take you out on a regular basis. To learn online racing you need to race online. It's that simple.
As for R3Es AI, we must be playing different games. I routinely have close, hard battles with this sim's AI as well as watching them fighting with each other. No issues with being rammed. They even make "mistakes" under pressure, something I don't see in any other sim. Most of the time the "problems" people have with the AI is down to their own unpredictable behaviour or incapable driving rather than an issue with the AI. (And that goes for most sims.)
If an AI sending it down the inside, jumping over the kerb, spinning and proceeding to take out an other AI is due to the player, we indeed do not play the same game. Also the AI will send it down the inside no matter what, even if you are ahead in the braking zone, bumping into your door in the best case scenario. Also I have seen multiple time AI unable to follow a proper racing line f another car get out the pit taking it out in the process (while that other car was inside the white line). But hey, I can send back your comment to yourself and just taking it as a lack of experience other than 5 minutes sprint races.
I personnaly use the fixed AI because of the adaptative sometimes erratics adjustements..
moreover, this send back to me a consistant and.. numbered (!) "virtual level" who help me to better estimate my skills than the adaptative
but also,
nobody is speaking about the differences between a well known track with an easy car versus an unknown track with a car intented to kill you each minute..
alterning those events give to the fixed IA all its sense by shifting yourself up or down the AI level for 2,3 or 5 points following your skills on this particular combo (adjustements are immediates and consistants..)
and where the adaptative AI cannot handle the difference of your skills between differents tracks and cars combos..
