Heavy steering
Hi. Why does my steering wheel feel so heavy in the corners? I can't even control the car properly. How do I dial that down? It feels like someone is pushing down on my wheel in the corners, and then suddenly it goes light again on the straights. I have the Fanatec CSL DD. Thanks.

I have done all that. It still feels like I have a freaking bowling ball attached to my steering wheel in the corners. It makes quick turning almost impossible. I turned off the gyroscopic effects in Fanalab as well, but that didn't help either. And why do my cars have the turning radius of a cargo ship? I set the steering angle to 480 degrees, but in Raceroom it's set to something else, and I don't even know how to change it. I have to turn like a sailor just to get through a corner, kind of hard on a Fanatec McLaren GT3 V2 rim.

It still doesn't fix that fundamental problem I'm having. It feels heavy in other sims too, but that's okay, because in other sims it's immersive and controllable. In Raceroom it gets progressively heavier the more I turn, like a weight that suddenly tips over, which makes it much less controllable. If it was a static heaviness, it wouldn't be a problem, but it's not.

Confused! My steering feels like it is trying to go over-centre all the time. I have a Fanatec Clubsport V2.5 and I've checked all its settings and tried to set the game cars steering to the same angle etc. But can't seem to lose this strong over-centre quirk. Anyone got any bright ideas?

Check the reversed FFB settings.

Thanks to Peter - 11th Jan - I used the second link to Fanatec info and it sorted the problem (then managed to win my first ever race in 'Raceroom'! - not too bad for a 69yr old)..... PS. Are you the same Peter involved with Sim Seniors?

No, not the same.
