Joining a multiplayer race session?

Brand new to Race Room. I tried to join multiplayer last night (on open servers) that I was eligible for (cars, tracks etc). However, when I selected go Race I was taken to the car select screen. After choosing the car the screen went to load and then returned to the car select screen.
So how do I join a multiplayer session? Why does it go back to the car select screen? Am I not selecting the right car? Am I trying to connect to the wrong server for my location? Is it my internet connection is not good enough? I don't get any messages to tell me the problem so does anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

Maybe there was a minimal rating required like on the eventserver of my community.

when you get returned there should pop up a small red banner on the top of the screen which says what the problem is. and the banner is quiet subtle, can be overlook easily.

I checked that and there was no minimal rating. Or at least it was zero so it should have been okay. I thought maybe I hadn't set my account up properly?

Thanks for that. I could barely see it to be honest and the resolution I have made it almost impossible to read! Basically I keep getting a message saying no response from the server.
Have you ever had that before and does it mean the problem is with the server? (although I can see other people using that server).

i got "No response from the server" whenever i tried to enter a server which just chnaged into a closed session. other then that i don't know.

Thanks I appreciate the help. Yeah I can't figure it out to be honest. I did see something about network settings when I searched online but that was more to do with someone setting up their own server and then getting no response to it when they tried to enter. I'm wondering whether the issue is to do with network settings and IP address but I don't really know. My IP address isn't fixed (due to my ISP) so it could be as simple as that.

What am I looking for with the firewall? Is there some option to make an exception like in anti-virus software? Sorry I don't know a lot about this kinda stuff. I'm kind of just put in the game and play guy))

So I found what was going on. It was my firewall settings. I adjusted them and it seems to be working for me now. Although since I'm such a novice I'm not sure too many people will be happy to hear I can use the servers! (A lot of crazy incidents I couldn't seem to avoid! Seems to be a lot of incidents reported for going off track too I'm sure I only went off like 7-8 times but ended with 22 incidents!)
