RaceRoom Racing Experience

RaceRoom Racing Experience

questions before I get this game (R3E)
Hi everyone. I am seriously thinking about getting RaceRoom Racing Experience, but I have some questions first.
1) If you had to put a number on it, what percentage of this game can you experience for free?
2) If someone wanted access to roughly 80% of the game, how much money would they likely have to put into it?
3) Can you use any car on any track?
4) If not, do the packs give you good cars for the tracks?
5) Do all of the cars actually drive and handle differently?
6) If so, is there a website I can visit that compares the stats of all the cars?
7) A standard feature in most F2P MMO's is the ability to unlock content just by playing the game, even if it does take a long time. Does this game have any content that can be unlocked just by playing?
8) Can it be played with just keyboard and mouse?
I've looked all over the internet for answers to these questions, and I couldn't find anything. Any help here would be great.

I'll take a few of them.
2. The last couple years Sector 3 has had a 50% off sale at easter
3. yes
5. yes
8. I think you can but wouldn't be very much fun imho
I really like the game except for the bad AI.
Hope that helps a little

The game is free go ahead and try it. There is 3 track that are free and a hillclimb. I think there is currently 11 free car. All those item you can use online and single player without paying anything.

Currently in the store main page you can purchase everything that is currently available with the premium pack. And it a steal or a deal.
Also just a heads up . Do not buy anything via steam. The discount applied in store is much better.

I'll just add:

1) A few cars and a few tracks. In terms of tracks its a small percentage, but the cars give you a taste of quite a lot of them.
2) 100% will cost you 65 pounds if you do it smartly- that is buy Vrp-
https://www.raceroomstore.com/shop_en/list_page?cat=24
and then use them to buy the "premium pack" - http://game.raceroom.com/store/pack/premium-pack
If you want to buy only a few tracks and cars, some steam packs are actually worth the money.
5) Up to a point. you really don't need more than one car from each of a few classes to enjoy the game, unless you really love cars, like some do.
6) better, you can TEST DRIVE every car before buying from within the game. Very useful.
7) no, only cash :)
8) It can, but it would be more fun with a wheel or at least a gamepad.

Thank you for answering most of my questions so far. I'd like to talk about 1, 2 and 6 a little more, though. So you get 11 cars to start. That sounds good. But, how good are they? Are any of them competative? Do you start with one from each of the classes? How many classes are there? How many tracks do you need to experience most of the game?
Being able to test drive is very cool. Still, I am a mad scientist with stats. Is there anywhere I can go to look at all the stats?
Thanks again for any help with this.

The store has all the cars, under all the classes. Each car has stats. And you can compare speed in the leaderboards. Tracks - there are about 35.

Not too sure about most of your questions since I've been buying content here and there over the past years, but for your question about the noticeable performance and handling of different cars I would say a definetely yes.. It's not just cosmetics, the cars really do handle differently although if you will be playing with keyboard and mouse most of the unique differences would probably be less noticable, since much of the subtle differences are felt through force feedack controllers(preferably ffb wheel setups). So if you want to get the most out of it and really feel the difference I would reccommend using a decent ffb wheel.

1)5%
2) 70dollars
3) yes, for solo and time attack mode. but for multiplayer there are some restriction, depending on the setting of the host, usually F1 can't race with slow car, basically everyone use the same car.
5) there are like 100cars, so some cars are very similar, and some car can be found with different version (2014 version, 2015 version, 2016 version etc)
6) no
7) no
8) you better not download this game if you want to play with keyboard or gamepad, because cars will be totally uncontrollable, it's a total waste of time. i tried ton of racing games and all i can say is trackmania and dirt 3 are the only good racing games playable and enjoyable with a keyboard or a gamepad.

The game can be played with keyboard, but mostly in amateur mode (enforced TC, ABS and SC with default setup) even at competitive level.

Regarding the content you can test a lot of it by entering the monthly competitions (hotlaps). Then you can buy a lot of great content and race in SP or MP.

Thank you for your answers. About that $70, is that $70 worth of individual cars and tracks, or is that based on buying specific packs? If it's the latter, what packs do you recommend?
Kayak Apr 13, 2017 @ 7:49am
it's based on specific pack. the premium pack (75€) give you 100% of the current game. (you must still pay for future track/cars) but it is the best pack of the game. because if you buy each track and cars separatly, it easily cost over 300€

Is that a cash sale, VRP sale, or both?
