RaceRoom Racing Experience

R3E A SIMULATOR? DON"T THINK SO!!
I find it strange that some call this game a sim and even declare it to be so much better that Pcars, but does anyone notice that you can't tweak any suspension settings? Or even change tire pressure? Or am I missing something....

I read before when I was looking at these forums that if you compare say Zolder track with GT3 cars between this game and Pcars that you will notice that the cars will "lift" (suspension/chassis) in Pcars on the crests of hills but not with R3E. Well guess what..That is true!! lol, we tried it after I purchased the track and the cars in Raceroom have no suspension lift...Sorry, but I'm choked now that I spent money on cars and tracks now, because after comparing it to Pcars (using a Logitech wheel and pedals) Raceroom just feels fake now.

But the sounds are pretty good compared to Pcars though, but racing with GT3 cars, I found everything else (including AI) to be more realistic for sure. Try it.

Yes you are missing something, before your race or time tral or whatever your'e playing. The car setup options are there. Suspension, fuel load, gear ratio's etc.

ah, ok thanks. I did see a couple of options (fuel, gear ratio etc) but I couldn't change anything. Is it only when your about to race? I'll check it out again and reply later.

Yeah its right before the race. Not tons of options to overcomplicate things but the most important I say.
Join a race with Realistic handeling mode or what ever it's called and it won't be grayed out.

It seems you are on "Amateur" physics mode instead of "GetReal". That might explain why its grayed out, or why you think the handling is not realistic.

If you think the handling and physics are better or more realistic in PCars compared to RRE, Asseto Corsa or rFactor than you are in a small minority.

This is a good expample of how broken PCars is.

A sim rather than a game to me means that it just simulates real racing, for example there is no goals, no missions, no achievements, no role play, no career and no gold coins to collect or tutorials or a stupid women telling you what to do and how to race.

You simply start of in the pit lane and that's it, just like a real race weekend but fast forwarded appropriately for maximum enjoyment, the kind of thing that a kid would fined boring but adults and race fans love.

A game is designed and set up to make you feel good at it and rewarded, a sim just simply simulates motorsport so forces you to actually be good at it.

Well that's how I declare a sim anyway. Lol

Very nicely put Vin!

What a lot of people miss about R3E is how well the simplicity of it's simulation inspires multiplayer racing. Of the 3 (R3E, AC and, pCars) I only race online with R3E. It is simpler for all racers to remain somewhat equal regarding tuning and not so shiny that everyone with less than an i7+2GB GPU is lagging.

pCars looks better. AC promises it better. R3E does it better. At least, so has been my observation.

Yup, this is the case indeed. No tire pressure, but most other (Diff, brake balance, TC, Ride height, springs, camber ) are there.

Oh definately, I've been noticing a bunch of things (and bugs)...Also, comparing anything but Rf2 to AC at the moment just isn't fair lol! AC is imo and my hotrod friends who play these games for $$ and drinks when we time trial tracks (who actually drive cars in RL) We are just comparing racing games for ourselves and for fun now that we all have PC rigs. But there are so many different players with different backgrounds out there and like they say, some things are subjective and opinions will differ.

Again, different opinions, but I c what ur sayin. I look at it as a "simulator" should try to simulate real life as close a possible within reason and limitation...Like R3E seems to (or did) simulate a racing series real good like ADAC but not physics or tyre model like Rf2 or AC does. ( I haven't tried iRacing yet)

Uh, no...I don't think that at all!! ..AC and Rfactor 2 are way ahead of both R3E and Pcars as far as I'm concerned and what I'm noticing. Like I said, I'm just checking stuff out and noticed that on some tracks especially, that Pcars feels more realistic than R3E in the way the car reacts in certain situations as I mentioned. Even the AI is more realistic in Pcars for example and I heard that it was one of, if not the worst AI ever, yet I get hit more when I'm using the racing line in R3E than I do with Pcars! (GT3 cars anyway, I haven't checked other classes yet)

Like I said, check it out for yourself. It's what we found anyway...For what it's worth.

you do get hit all the time and when looking closer to it they never hit eachother... fact 1, R3E uses so much cpu power due to keep it updated that even an i5 pc with gtx 760 videocard is not enough anymore, i've started playing this "sim" with an intel 2 pc and gtx 260 videocard on full options... It played mighty fine in the early day's, then came the big updates and since they started with that something was always doomed to go wrong. So i've both an i5 pc with gtx 760 just last year and yes in the beginning it was again awsom but they just keep bringing in so much stuff even this pc is not good enough anymore unless you put all the settings on low... that's fact 2. Instead of making the game bigger and bigger wich makes it a huge file they better make a new sim, started with Race07 to RaceRoom i believe it's mighty time for a new RaceRoom, personnally i would call the new game "RaceDoomed" cause that's what tis game is going to, being doomed forever. So in cause you wonder if i'm also one of those that's not happy after playing a while... better check my profile and see how many hours i've invested in this socalled sim and btw yes i've been foloish to keep bying addons because i play in rather lots of online multiplayer groups. To be hoenst i'm pretty much fed up with this sim, i just play it for the fun but even that's not always the case in multiplayer with the o so many trolls online. That's all folks ;)

Well, my concern has always been this, as I was enjoying the idea of WTCC and DTM racing at first so I too invested to only find out that they are only good at churning out more content for people to buy, not improving the game... The game has gotten worse, WAY worse since a year and a half ago.

AI was messed with, and made worse, WHY? They can't seem to create an update without breaking something more than what they were trying to fix, then hotfix after hotfix......"RaceDoomed"

Good to see that others are noticing. And they should be upset, especially the early investors.

I love replays and a big no no in project cars for me is the Ai engine sounds, I hate that arcade approach of having the player sound louder and better than Ai, in rrre it really sounds like 30+ cars coming by, all cars have the same quality sound, like in reality.
Also it's more pc demanding than rrre and crashes for me personally.
Better visuals is all I can say.

This sound issue bothered me on toca for playstion 1, I don't expect it these days, I hope pc2 makes the sounds equal.
