When I went to saved games folder I saw I didn't have such a savegame_0.bin, and the newest modified file was named savegame_0_bkp.bin. I did a backup of that file and renamed it to savegame_0.bin, then relaunched the game and the saved game was there.
Thank you this worked for me, booted up the game and all files were gone (possibly as my internet got ♥♥♥♥♥ right as the game was launching and the cloud synched), this restored the exact last save i made.

- Hold down the Windows Key and press R
- The Run dialog should appear. Type dxdiag in the available text field.
- Click OK
- Click Save All Information
- Set the Save as type to Text File (*.txt)
- Save the file DxDiag.txt to your Desktop so it is easy to find.
- Open the .txt file, copy all the contents > Paste all the contents to a free text hosting service such as https://justpaste.it/ or http://pastebin.com/
- Copy the link to your post and paste in your reply

C:\Users\USER\AppData\LocalLow\The Game Kitchen\Blasphemous 2\Savegames
and copy the contents to
C:\Users\USER\AppData\LocalLow\The Game Kitchen\Blasphemous 2\EpicUser_32033GUIDfc49\Savegames
Then upon game run, choose upload saves to cloud.
This should bring back your progress.
@Team17 - not cool, very frustrating experience... How can you not get game saving rightso many months in is beyond me. Otherwise, great game, great job, having a blast.
