Stuck in the DLC

Used my 100% savegame from half a year ago, but I can't get further in the dlc
every available pathways are blocked with those thorn barriers and I don't find the item to traverse them, already beaten the praying lady boss fight, but the next door is stuck too, because I didn't finish the claykey quest yet
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

yep, there are a lot of things blocked, but that is the fun, sometimes frustrated, but challenging, yes yes .... it requires a lot of platform skills.

I haven't found the item to get through thorns, I can walk on the ice platforms. I did find in a video I did miss the part where you have to 'get below the grate' of the first area you opened to I think it's Icebound Mausoleum? So I am going back there to get below the purple area that I missed but yeah I am getting lost and no idea what some of the items are that I give to the tree 'it does nothing' right now

I have a similar problem to yours but i cant even get the clay key for uknown reasons. If you collect all the gold fragments and you give it to the tree it returns you with a rosary bead.

Found it, at least my problem.
In that upper Raven temple there was a breakable clayman barricade I misstook for a thorn barricade. There I found the last part of the key

The gold fragments have nothing to do with the key.
