How to open the door behind the fervor upgrades NPC ?

I have all the fervor upgrades, but I can't seem to find how to open the door.

Apparently, the shopkeeper in the Abandoned Patio is supposed to sell a key, but I have already bought everything from him and he keeps telling me that's he's got nothing left.

Am I missing something else or is my save bugged ?

It depends on if you accepted to kneel or not to the Big Hand. If yes, shopkeeper should have it after you got all fervor upgrades (5 total, you should have 300 fervor).

If you refused to kneel 4 times in a row, you'll get the key from the confessor instead.
