Just because a game is on PC doesn't mean mouse and keyboard are the optimal way to play it.
I don't know what people are doing buying this game without an Xbox controller. It very clearly is in the style of console-exclusive games like Metroid and Castlevania; gameplay that was designed to be intuitive to a controller, and they never intended to port to PC back when.
Would you people also complain about Street Fighter playing like ass on a mouse and keyboard when it is clearly intended for an arcade stick? It's really funny to me that PC gamers talk about how an advantage of PC is that it supports every type of gaming controller, but then whine when a game takes advantage of that supposed strength
All I can say is that the game should add a warning to the steam page like the Dark Souls games do: That a controller is STRONGLY recommended.
the controls on gamepad weren't good either in the first game, tbh. I had to get a third party program to remap everything so it'd be tolerable (and then I had to deal with the screen telling me to push a button, but I have to keep in mind that that's not the correct button, but that, specifically, is not quite on the devs).
At least the second game has a menu to rebind the buttons...just sucks that it's not for every button and that it's the most jank interface I've ever seen. Decade of games having rebindable controls and this is the menu screen they choose?
anyway, tldr, you might be able to get away with using a remapping software or something. Sucks, but it's an option.
why is is like that. In the first one this wasnt a problem i would really appreciate if this can get changed and you can attack with your mouse button
