Can't give scroll of the elder

Are you only allowed to get one remembrance from this event? I got the one from castula first because I had the item and the man was the one eating, now it's the woman and she just says she can no longer hear his voice no matter how many times I leave and come back. Has anyone else experienced this?

I believe it is a bug, but I think the game is aware of it? Idk I just went to the forlorn patio merchant in the streets of the wake and the remembrance of Trifon is there for 6k. Complete accident, but I guess that ultimately solves the issue. My guess is if you get castulas remembrance first, the game "soft locks" the quest as I think you are supposed to give the scroll of the elder first, but who knows.

No, I gave the Scroll of the Elder and it ended their quest as well. I think the story implication is that they were both alive and dead in kind of a Schrodinger's Cat kind of way, and you giving one of them the item they were looking for confirmed for them that the other was actually dead and not just faking it to piss them off. The lore for each one's remembrance/sculpture also suggests this to be true. Fittingly, you get the remembrance for the other one from the merchant in the Street of Wakes, who is caged in with his own obsession with death in the zone filled with ghosts and scenes of death.

I do, however, think it's a little weird that there isn't something else you can do with the item you don't turn in. It's not a big problem since you ultimately do get both of their remembrances/sculptures, but it's kind of weird that when the quest is over you end up with a leftover quest item with no more use.

Ah ok, so you only get to experience one of their dialogues no matter what, I guess that makes sense. Seems like it would have been just as cool to give them both and find out they were both dead since technically they both should be if either or is dead. Then you wouldn't end up with the extra quest item either, but oh well, thanks for the input.
