Don't make fun of me... but I can't beat Lesmes and the Infant
I played through the first game and beat it. I found it difficult, but got through it. I'm currently stuck on the second boss... Lesmes and the infant. I can beat the first 2 phases fairly easily, but when I face them together, I get wrecked. I try to focus on the infant, but Lesmes nails me every time. I've made about 30 attempts at it, and am at a loss. Any tips on how any of you got through that third stage? I feel like I can't even move.

Kid has a lot less hp. I used the flail (hit with the actual head to register hit twice) and I focused the kid first. I would say that this fight is about not being greedy. The robot or whatever it is mostly just does the pillars and fireball transformation so he is mostly harmless. Take a break. That always helps to clear your head from the fight fatigue.

-remember that lesmes always does 3 fire pillars, so try to not get cornered or you're screwed
-unfortunately you can't destroy the infant's projectiles so don't even bother, just dodge them, I don't think parrying would work since they seldom come at you with much delay
-what worked for me, as soon as the 3rd phase starts, activate the Sword's devil trigger equivalent and go ham. You should be able to knock out 2/3 of one of your target's health. In my game, I took out Lesmes first, but that was just how it played out, I didn't target him on purpose

Hello

Make sure you got some pairs (sets) of altarpieces to get more damages on your weapon(s) of choice, it makes quite the difference at this stage.

Otherwise, I used Veredicto to smash through Lesmes and Liviana separatedly (whenever Lesmes dies the first time and Liviana is leaving the "coffin" , you can go hard on her during the animation. Setting Veredicto on fire shreds her, and she got only a quarter of health when she can move).
When they are together, I used Sarmiento and Centella, ignoring Lesmes and focusing Liviana first. The rapier is quite quick so you can move freely whenever you want while attacking. The rest is pattern learning, and don't rush during the third phase, a mistake is instant punished if you don't take your time to dodge Liviana's daggers

That's how I did it

I'm like you, can't beat the third phase.
Only tip I have is to use the poison cloud, it's very effective against both, on their period when they stand still (especially when the baby pops out).
Then whatever health you still have, it's gonna go in an instant on third phase.

it was tricky, yeah. What I did was drop the fire prayer at the kid's feet when 3rd phase starts, pop chainsaw mode with the sword and go full ham on the little ♥♥♥♥ first xD

i used fire defence items, and targeted the big dude first. the fire does little to no damage so i stayed at the edge of the fire and smacked him. keep the fire close together when he drops pillars.

dont be afraid of damage, most attacks are weak except the very obvious physical attacks, aka the blade roll and the charge from the big guy.

i also used the little fire pillars attack to hit them when they stop, it does crazy damage if you catch them in it. stage 2 takes like 4 seconds because of it.

This is by far the hardest fight in the game, and because I'm a ditz, I had to beat it with only two flasks (missed the first upgrade).
For phase 3, I ignored Infanta until Lesmes was dead. Keep an eye on Infanta and *only* attack when it's safe to do so. I played with the sword, so sometimes, instead of going for damage, I had to parry Infanta's dagger barrage (which gladly grants you invincibility frames). It takes practice, but is doable

Also did you beat the "ceselator" boss under the ruins of the Mother of Mothers? Because it gives you the double jump, you can double jump when Lesmes charge on you, is way easier also you can reach places with extra health and power before the fight.

I use only Veredicto in this fight. Lesmes has 4 attacks and only waving the piller on your face requires block. The other attacks are easy to doge and the Veredicto`range actually a bit longer than 3 fire pillars` hit box.
In Phase 3 try to focus fire on Infant, she has less hp and she is weak with fire element, so light Veredicto on and try to take one down quick.

Agree but he hit like a truck when he charges you, specially when his charge is hidden by the pillars of fire...so I can see why.

If you have a maxed rosary and some resist beads, fill it with fire / elemental / miasma. They were the final of the three initial bosses for me and all of their attacks did barely any damage with the right beads on, like literally a sliver or two of health.

Thank you all for the tips. I didn't realize I could explore more (I thought that where I ended up and how I got there, were the only way). I have 3 health flasks and the mace and sword, but no good power ups up or special attacks. I'm gonna explore more and come back with a bit more gear.
