So far im not that impressed with the bosses ..?
they're so SO Much easier than the first game im just cutting through them
even one of them that killed me on my first attempt after i almost got her
2nd attempt i killed her before she activated her 2nd phase attack cuz I just got the timing for the counterattack right

im no "GODTIER" game here or anything i swear im not here to flex
this genuinely feels just so much easier so far

granted i didnt go that far, i just defeated the first 3 (major?) Bosses and that big city came down just now

but all of them were kind of a let down, just pushovers that had very limited attacks

the golden one with fire when he dies, spawns the small one, then you fihgt them both again in 3rd phase had no new movesets it was just the same but now you fight them together which wasnt hard by using the fire spell and just knowing how to dodge their basic attacks

I am enjoying this so far, I love how all the areas are just new things brought to me consistently all interconnected maps making me feel like it reallly is a metroidvania done well but some of the areas seem very small as if i just pass through them and forget about them
And as I mentioned the bosses be very easy compared to the first one.

I sure hope i find more challenging ones later on...

The next boss I faced in terms of progression after the one mentioned in your post is a fair bit chunkier, although it still only took like <10 attempts. Map's about 60% explored so there might still be some more challenging ones waiting up, but honestly, the first game's bosses weren't nail-biting either. People gotta remember that everybody that played the first game had a whole game worth of rough game experience to fall back on. Hard to tell unless I take the time out of my day to replay the first one if it's really all that casualized as people say or if it's just bias.

When your company grows and you want to attract a larger gamer audience casualization becomes the main priority.

first game wasnt super hard, the most annoying part for me was some spikes in platforms n backtracking, bosses were fun for the most part rather than being just annoyingly difficult , here they just seem underwhelming in terms of their attacks/looks and intimidation that they should be giving.

"first game wasnt super hard"
Not super hard, if me, who isnt a expert of the genre, managed to finish it, anyone can.

Yes I beat all of them first try, except for the last 2. The game throws extremely trivial bosses at you only to throw at you the hardest semi-final boss in recent memory against who'm I have died to more than the entire rest of the game, the final boss is also harder than the others but still relatively easy.

Blasphemous 1 wasn't hard. Why is everyone on this board acting like it was crazy hard? I found it be pretty much the same difficulty at this game.

Yeah if you want an disloyal fanbase who couldn't give less of a ♥♥♥♥ about your game aside from playing it once then yes.

Deal with it, harder games or even games with very hard difficulty options such as Fromsoftware titles and Doom Eternal have very passionate fanbases who are there years or potentially decades after release while easy games are always forgotten in 2 weeks.

i played almost every game by from software and not a single one of them had difficulty options so idk what you mean by this.

the idea here again, its underwhelming

lets ignore the difficulty, the design and the mechanics just dont feel that "Scary"

Wow, curious...
don't know if it's because i had just become "overleveled" / accustomed to the bosses of B1 after clearing it multiple times but i find the ones i met in 2 so far alot harder and refined with multiple phases and more intricate patterns etc. To me it feels like a continuation of Stir of Dawn boss designs, which were also quite a bit harder than the original ones imho.
Maybe i'm just missing some cheese spells?

honestly all i use is dual sabers and the basic fire spell
im avoiding the mace as it just demolishes stuff + i dislike slow things anyway.

not much cheesing but i do have those statue things alligned to give me a good boost for attack+lightning attacks ...so maybe?

For outlook design, I think it is because the theme has changed. You see in B1 the Grievous Miracle has existed for centuries and has enough time to spread its twisted influence. But in B2 the new miracle has not fully born yet and most bosses you fight are mere followers of the first Penitent, as humans who have some favor of miracle like the Penitent one at most.
For action design, I agree with jaderpansen. They have more phases and more intricate patterns. Most boss fights are less intense than the Voice of the Dead or Crisanta`s second phase for the designers leave us longer attack windows, not limited attack chance during those 2 fights.

Still for an excellent blocker, suppress fight in B1 is still available, and dual sabers can deal a lot of damage to boss as long as the style gauge is full.
For easier tactic, spam prayer(holy blood this time) with the mace is a cheese way.

Thing is that you should still keep the hard part as the base of the game that your hardcore fans love and have a "casualize" option for the larger audience. You want to keep your loyal audience attracted to your products. There is little point to appeasing those who could be flakes.

really? I find them much harder, the firrst game I didnt have difficulty with anyone
