question for people who played the first game
Do i need to play it to be able to follow the story of 2?

I haven't finished the game yet but I think you can play it without problem. I'm sure you will want to play the 1 after cause it's amazing too

No you don't need it. This game is pretty forward about your goals and has nothing to do with previous one. The story is also different.

If you don't want to play the 1st one you can always read lore or watch a lore movie on youtube. It is nice to know the whole context of the story.

You don't have to have played the first game, but I still think you should. The gameplay is nearly identical anyway, and they are both great
