Cursed letter

Any idea where the place described in 2nd page might be?
Also what's the spear tip for? It's one of the first quest items you'll pick up in the game, but I found no use for it.

If it's the "pit" one, the location alludes to the giant pit just past the City of the Blessed name. Stand a few seconds in any sides of the pit. The spear tip is for the side quest involving the lady in the green clothes whom you meet before each boss

Thanks, finally found it! Too many gaps in the game that fit the description...
Regarding the tip, I guess I must have lucked out (?) since I didn't speak to that lady before a boss fight near the end and when I returned she wasn't outside anymore and I found her dead in the boss room :(

for me it only worked on the left side of the pit when i tried it

When you first come to that pit at the beginning of the game you hear a scream. That scream is mentioned in the letter

I went on to the grate above the woman. Nothing.
I went to the woman. Nothing.
This one really could've been clearer.
