Kuro II English Translation Patch

So I got some news. Some dude in the Falcom 4chan thread used DeepL (MTL) to translate the entire game from Korean to English today. From what I’ve read in there, they’re expecting some anons to do a edit of the script after awhile so the quality is better and more coherant.

But for now, the whole game has english text in it if you aren't bothered by machine translation.

i would like to know aswell. the MT really would have been better if some random dude facerolled on the keyboard and called it a day, its so bad

atm there are about 4 hours of english gameplay that is properly translated, dont know which chapter it is that im on since that part is still in korean

I'm on the second chapter on Van's side and it's been retranslated. I played it for like a day before the new patch dropped and it was difficult to understand what was going on.

Edit, cause I forgot what I came here to say. Anyone know if there's a way to add the translation to steam deck?

oh, i ofc didnt check if both sides were translated, i chose the other one and that wasnt. got some more gameplay then :D

Same way you patch the PC version, just leave out the "Optional Font" folder as I've heard the XAudio dll breaks it.

So how bad is the MTL? I know its most likely bad, but would I be able to understand the basis of the story at least? I'm huge fan of Trails series and it drives me insane there is another title I cannot play because it's in language I just dont understand at all.

from what i tried the MTL its all garbage, you cant understand jack. although i only played until the first battle (aka watched the intro cutscenes which are pretty long)

currently you get 14 hours of gameplay from the properly translated patch atm. im playing this as a segmented game like deltarune lmao. they seem to work pretty fast on the proper translation so im going to assume if we are lucky the story will be finished by the end of fall if not sooner. (i might be talking out of my ass depending on the amount of text in later chapters)

its at the top of the post. the mega files have a readme where they tell you how to get it working.
i will suggest the ENG PATCH (WIP + MTL) one as that one brings in the machine text in places where the translation is not finished.
there is also a file that you can just double click on to see the progress of the wip patch
