Kuro II English Translation Patch

So I got some news. Some dude in the Falcom 4chan thread used DeepL (MTL) to translate the entire game from Korean to English today. From what I’ve read in there, they’re expecting some anons to do a edit of the script after awhile so the quality is better and more coherant.

But for now, the whole game has english text in it if you aren't bothered by machine translation.

you can save the folder to your Mega cloud, and then use Mega desktop app to sync it with your PC

Which language do you refer to? Japanese? Chinese? Korean?
I do know a bit of Japanese and learn it constantly. Was playing Tokyo Xanadu in JP.

Honestly, any language is better than relying on MTL, you might as well not play it at that point if you are resorting to that.
If you have a ps4 you can play the series there in the original language

1) maybe you still didn't get it: we are waiting for MTLE (edited MTL), which means that most of the text is translated with MTL, but then edited by a human.
2) thank you for letting me know that I can wait for 2-3 years until I get an official English release. Didn't know that =) Bro, your advice is so good; thanks for that
3) PS4? Really? I do own one, didn't use it for more than a year. Play the game with locked 30 FPS, in awesome 720p, on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controller, without any possible difficulty patches, etc. That's great advice. Thank you very much. What would I do without you?

I'll put it simply since most of you guys don't seem to understand. If you are going to go down the MTL route to read things only in japanese just stop engaging with it, its honestly really disgusting to act like MTL is a good alternative, just ruins the source material in every way even more. Why do you think translators are still a thing? Do you really think MTL is good enough just because a human will "edit" it? It will still be garbage, have some respect for yourself and the content you consume at least, maybe like for Kuro 1 someone will port the JP script over

The aspect of MTL I am interested in this case however are the people like you who think it is a good option when there are so many better ones that will do so much more for you rather than rely on broken english "translations".

The easiest way to play this series will always be in JP and that will stay true unless Falcom randomly start to do everything in-house and stop using CLE and NISA for overseas releases

I used an injection patch for Kuro 1. But most of the side NPCs were untranslated (at the moment). And DeepL worked pretty well on this one. There were some issues related to OCR, but in 95% of cases, the translation was accurate and pretty understandable.

We are all happy that your JP skills are so good that you can read text-heavy JRPG games with ease. But most people have only some basic skills and still learning, so our translation would be far worse than MTL.

I don't really understand why you care about what other people think and do. Are you some kind of guru or monk who tries to put us on a righteous path?

Japanese is „considered“ to be the easiest of the far east languages.

I have been learning it a little bit, but the scripture drives me to despair. I understand a few things by just listening, but reading Kanji is so difficult. I still struggle with Hiragana, where I make mistakes in just mixing the syllables up - and yeah…

But grammar and syntax work perfectly fine. If only there was more dubbed dialogue in the game… so there is only around 5% of the cutscenes dubbed which makes it impossible for me to even use the Japanese script…

It is a pity that they do not even include the original script. In Korean I am completely lost. I couldn’t even find the „exit game“ option…

I tried the Kuro 2 English Patch and well: after modding ten minutes of Kuro 1 dialogue into German - I recognized that this was a lot of work. So thanks a lot for the guy who did this and replaced the Korean with the English machine translation. I only tried the menu and the in-game-lexicon, but I thought DeepL could do better. I guess it is a lot better with Japanese already because of the fact that Korean was just recently added there.

As long as there is no Japanese script or an English reviewed translation or even a human translation, I will not play it. In that case Uz is right that the machine translation ruins the game somehow.

On this occasion: Let me say thank you again to Zerofield. The Kuro 1 translation was gorgeous and without noticeable flaws. And the developers of the patch as well of course, because setting up the text for the actual game is quite uncomfortable. Took me nearly four hours to get two scenes of the game into proper German…

Already have PS5 version, later buy ENG PS5.
But no there is no transactions through steam in me region.
