Well, that's less bad than it could have been, I suppose. For what it's worth, the Spirit City program itself has behaved well on my computer at least, without any notable noise or heat. But I'll definitely be crossing my fingers for a removal of that Epic file in the future - having anything Epic-related on one's computer gives about the same connotations as getting a rat or roach infestation in one's house, so it's not a pleasant feeling to have it snuck in like this. I'm glad I'm not the only one reacting to it, though
1) Letting me drag and set the resolution to whatever size I want.
2) In the latest update letting me set the frame rate when not having the window selected. I truly truly appreciate this. I needed the performance juice for work. (running docker containers) but I also want to use this for the todo, habit tracker etc. when I need to (would love a calendar that I can place notes on! pleaseeee :) )
Now if I could adjust the graphics settings a bit that would be great for someone just running the app in the background 24/7. It do be eating some memory+cpu and would like to lessen it however I can.
Thank you again!
Its part of the ENGINE the game runs on. There's not going to be a way to get rid of it. Epic owns/makes/maintains Unreal Engine, which this game runs on. So if you want to play games made on the Unreal Engine you're going to have "Epic software" running. I hope that helps explain. its nothing like you are thinking it is, lol
I think that's a great idea, it would be absolutely fantastic to switch to a static with one click that automatically shuts down all the elaborate graphics. Since our character is Spritograph, the image could then be optional photos of the Spirits, another way to integrate new collectables ;)
An alternative is to switch to static image while in background. I mean, when I minimize the game, why render even 5 fps? Just stop all the 3D rendering completely, use 0% GPU, and only run timers, exp, sounds, etc.
Small usame might not affect work, but it still affects power bills :)
