I think from a stand point of "fun vs. gameplay" I found Star Wars a bit more accessible. You don't have to spend hours and hours to try to find that one character you need for something. You basically get what you need to do the Freeplay elements while playing single player, or .. they're purchaseable. With HP, you can't buy the character, until you've found the token .. which can be a bit frustrating. Also, the levels in HP are much, much longer. So if you're looking to go back for one specific thing, you still have to play through the entire level to get back there. Couple that with certain elements just not even being IN the story anymore (Like the aging potion room), if you don't just KNOW that you can go back there, or more importantly .. where it is .. it can be somewhat frustrating. I think for the HP games in specific, adding the Maurader's Map as an actual .. you know .. MAP would have been awesome. Especially if they'd let you select an area on the map, and have Nick lead you to that part of the game. It's such a simple little thing, and yet it would have made navigating worlds easier.
Sorta got off track a bit, but it's things that I've been thinking about. :D
