Can't get past Year 4, Level 1

Okay, so I can't free everyone in the Quidditch World Cup level (story mode, first time through, not sure if its there for freeplay).

I can get Mr Weasley (pan to the head), George (under the table), and Ron (fireworks circling), but I can't get past the book to get to Fred because the cart won't highlight to let me use Wingardium Leviosa on it.

Has anyone else had this issue and/or figured out a way around it? I've tried reducing my graphics settings to the lowest, and even moved the save to another computer; no dice. Are there cheat codes that will unlock the next level so I can come back in freeplay mode (I've seen posts on the internet where people got past this on a console and they said freeplay didn't have the issue)?

You need to brew a disappearing potion first to defeat the book than you'll be able to remove the cart.

Well, I've gotten the potion many times and I *thought* I had killed the book. Could you explain in excruiating detail how to defeat the book, just in case I've been failing miserably this whole time?

EDIT: Never mind. A friend suggested I look at a walkthrough on Youtube and I figured it out. I was failing miserably at defeating the book.

Opening this up again because I'm having a similar problem and I just can't find the solution and OP didn't detail how s/he got past through it.

I've used the invisibility potion and spammed every usable key in the game but the character just won't jump on the book and 'defeat' it. A white arrow appears on the book but pressing the interact key (default J) just doesn't work.

I don't know how but somehow, the book gets stunned though I can't attack it and I can't use a spell on the cart.

Any suggestions?

Seriously, go watch a walkthrough on Youtube. It's amazing how much things make sense when you see them being done instead of just reading how to do them.

Dude. I wouldn't be asking here if it was that easy. None of the ones I've watched have encountered the same problem, and they're all done with a console, NOT a pc. The only difference between their gameplay from mine (apart from the console used) is that mine didn't have any button prompt. Just a white arrow.

Anyway, I've restarted the game itself and pressing the 'action' button (default J) finally worked.

Same problem, finally notice the book have ( sometime ) a white arrow, just consider this like a locomotion transport. Press "change hero" when u're on the white arrow. and it works.

Wow, thanks! I had the exact same issue and never would have guessed a character change.

I had the same problem. Press K on the book. It might work.
