Save file gone?
I know supposedly the save file for this game is supposed to be under the Lego HP folder in AppData and whatnot, but when I go into that folder all it has is a file for PCconfig, no save file. The config is only 2KB. It's exactly the same way on my portable HDD, but I copied the entire folder from my old laptop. Steam still recognizes I played 13hrs but I have no save file present.

Any reason the save file wouldn't have been copied successfully? Isn't this what SteamCloud is for? Why does it not have my save?

Have you checked it's not a 'hidden' file. Highlight the folder and go into 'Tools' and check through your settings :)

I assume you mean in my external HDD? Being hidden shouldn't affect if the file is read by Steam, right? Also, not sure what you mean. I'm actually having trouble finding the APPDATA folder at all without searching. And when I get there I don't see a tools or settings option for hidden folders/files.

In an unrelated note there's still a League of Legends folder here... what does it take to get rid of this thing? lol

Have located the savegames on my computer @
C:(Username)
AppData
Roaming
WB Games
Lego Harry Potter
Saved Games

and there are four slots relating to Save 1/2/3+4

I don't know if just copying these over will allow a link into the game, but that is where they are.

Hope this helps :)

Unfortunately, nearly 10 years later and I never did find/recover my original save file for this game. I haven't played it since. Can't believe it's really been that long. Always meant to just start a new game, but it seemed like a depressing task since I had gotten pretty far the first time.

Anyway, I imagine Steam Cloud Saves are a lot more reliable these days. I'd advise just making sure it says the game is synced before launching it on your new PC. Otherwise, just double check the file locations mentioned in the prior comment. If none of that works, I don't know what to tell you, sorry.
