Year 4 The Quidditch World Cup

How do I jump over the fire in part 2 of the Quidditch World Cup chapter? Like what controls do I need to use? Everytime I try, I keep up ending up into the fire as whoever I'm playing as. I managed to do it on my nintendo wii, just not now on my laptop.

I seem to remember having to wait til the second bounce to give that extra bit of distance :)
