So this level's just impossible, huh? Twice now, got caught by him while trying to get an invisibility potion together, then can't switch characters because he has hold of one for the rest of eternity, and I need both to move on to the next area.

You can attack his cat, Mrs Norris, then he goes to comfort her letting go of your character :)

Thank you. And then I found that a couple levels later, The Dark Tower, just a couple minutes in..I have to shoot a gargoyle so it will breathe fire on some ice to open a door. Except that doesn't happen. Gargoyle turns partway and the game freezes so hard I have to try to shut my computer down just so it will do anything again. Is this game garbage? Do I need a refund?

Lego games do have a few glitches and the devs don't usually respond, but the community often come up with fixes or work arounds, especially as some of the games are so old and don't react well with newer spec machines and OS's.
