LEGO® Harry Potter: Years 1-4

(FIXED!) Freezes while at year 3 when you're about to rescue Sirius from the tower.
This has happened two times already and at the exact same spot. I'm at Year 3 and Harry and Hermione is on their way to rescue Sirius from the tower when the whole game just freezes as I've just gotten blown up in the air by two flowers and have landed on the upper floor where there's a dementor. Just to be clear, this is the level right after they have turned back in time with the time-turner to save Sirius from the dementors.

When it freezes all I am able to do is restart my computer directly from the start button on the computer because I'm not able to turn the actual game off. Task manager doesn't work either.
Am I the only one experiencing this? And is it fixable?

I have had problems with this game before were the "Not executable" pop-up appears and I was able to fix it by changing the sound settings and the graphics. But it has never freezed on me before.

I have a strong computer and use Windows 10.
Any suggestions?

I'm literally having the exact same problem right now. Restarted my computer a few times and it keeps happening the moment I hit either of the stone things either side of the door. Freezes and wont do a thing. Sucks.

It is a problem with your videocard or drivers. When I changed vudeocard it worked. Use The search function and there is a guide on how to tweak lights in The Game to make it work

You have to find the place where the folder of the game ended up when you installed it. You should have a place where all your steam games end up on your computer.

Try writing in %appdata% in the start bar search function, there you should find a folder that's called "WB Games".

Find the file that's called pcconfig.txt. Make a copy of it and put the copy on to your desktop. Then enter the original pcconfig.txt file (the one that's still in the "WB games" folder) and change both the DesiredDynamicLightQuality and MouseSensitivity to 0.

Then try and see if it worked. If it did, you should finish the level if you want to change back the settings because to do that you'll have to turn the game off again and all your progress won't be saved unless you've finished the level.

To change the settings back again you just have to delete the pcconfig.txt. file that's in the "WB games" folder and replace it the copy that's on the desktop.

Hope it works!

Sorry if I over explained things. ^^

But can you just write in the "Original" the Settings, you changed? Like not put the Copy in the Folder and these Things? Would that work too?

I honestly don't know. It shouldn't hurt the game to try it, at least I don't think so. ^^
