Some suggestions for developers
Great game, I got it in sale without hearing before about it, and I'm happy I got it. Just finished it and maybe developers will appreciate some feedback:
I liked the double jump mechanics, it forces player to think a little and not just mash the jump button like crazy. Kick/attack button was ok, I don't know how would I improve it. Game mechanics are imho overall beter than in SMB or Dustforce. My favorite levels were the japanese one and the underwater one, awesome music and art.

Things that I think could be improved, maybe in sequel:
1) missing/desintegrating corpses! I like to see how much I failed in graphical manner, Also, blood is clearing itself from saws, no gibs remain etc...
2) there could be more ways to kill enemies when you both are just stading on the ground. Maybe some deadly but time consuming attacks.
3) difficulty is too even, there are no easy parts in hard leves or hard parts in easy levels
4) there could be some more levels with the difficulty I most enjoyed, i.e. 3rd chapter. Later levels were more frustrating than fun.
5) collision boxes are slightly larger then sprites, I think it should be the other way, if something
6) there could be more graphical designs for deadly environment, saws and spikes are fun, but there could be so much more
7) ghosts should be rarer, they are interesting but you can't throw them into a saw!
8) story!

Personaly in sequel I would like to see similar game mechanics but with more story/adventure feel to it.

I hope it sold good enough so there will be a sequel!

I agree with point 5).
And my suggestion is that considering we have this amazing combat system here, there should be large, Boss-type enemies that you can actually use it against.
Nothing's more satisfying than clawing a gigantic beast to death.
It can still be added as bonus levels though, so nothing is lost.

I agree with all the points, mostly the last one.
When I saw the ending, I was like : "WTF? THAT'S IT?"..

The hitboxes are really bad too.

That was the hardest game I've ever played in my life. Am I a noob or this game is really really hard?

yeah, pretty much same. I think authors wanted some light mysterious story, which mostly succeded when you think about it, but the end made little sense...

Super meet boy is harder, mostly because moving the character was like moving an elephant on ice, but after finishing TBP in about 11 hours I find early levels quite easy. Fourth chapter is hell though!

Agreed,~
1st chapter was easy as hell
2nd chapter was OK
3rd chapter was quite hard but still fun
4th chapter was just frustrasting -_-

I'll try to play Super Meat Boy after reading your comment :)

SMB is fairly hard, but you can't go wrong with it. I bought it for pretty much the same price as this, but it has more content. It might not have a battle system, but the level design, music and general gameplay makes up for it.

But to be honest with you, I MUST recommend Fly'N. Apart from the last level and the bonus levels, the game is fairly easy. It still takes effort, but it's not quirky. (I'd like to note that I beat TBP in less than 7 hours, so "easy" is a relative term. It's just not excruciatingly hard, but it's still challenging at times.)

I don't play MOBA games anymore.
My team is always me+4 monkeys

my biggest complaint with this game is that standing attack kicks the enemy forward and forward+attack does basic attack. why not the opposite???? that makes so much more sense to me

I find this lack of good platformers disturbing, and when it's good(TBP) it's short. I think I will begin to play piano, when I played super meat boy it felt so similar to it. Or maybe it's just me.

Because you need to play with friends. Add me on steam if you want to try dota with non-monkeys, I'll have time later this month for a few games.

The problem is that I never find +4 friends to play.. they are always playing another game or busy or something..

Anyway, thanks for the invite =)

Amongst this, SMB and Dustforce, this is the one I enjoyed the least I must admit. The gameplay is far less accurate than in the other 2 imo.
Same as BestGuyJP, I found the controls scheme pretty awkward overall (especially the kick and forward attack, yes), the whole combat system felt sluggish and slow somehow, the platforming part was far more enjoyable to me.
The background, story set, chara design, unlockables and co. were very interesting though.

In terms of difficulty however, this is nowhere as close as Dustforce (which is still my best hardcore platform experience as of now).

i think its perfectly fine that x stands for kick rather than the 'basic stab' because the latter is pretty much superfluous really, its almost useless, unlike the kick, which plays a major role in combat
