Mullet Mad Jack

A few issues I encountered
So I finally played a bit of Mullet Madjack and noticed a few things that hopefully will get some fixing in the future.

1. After playing for a bit and reaching Chapter 3 Floor 25 the game started to have crackling audio issues when a lot was happening on screen (especially when things would explode).

2. A couple times I noticed enemies shooting me through closed doors from inside the next room.

3. Every time I reached Floor 28 it felt like my weapon (Level 3 pistol) was not doing any damage anymore. Head-/Nutshots would suddenly do absolutely nothing and since I was playing on Hard mode that would quickly mean Game Over because I was not able to get enough time back. Please have a look at what's going on there.

4. When sliding through a small vent your mouse gets locked in place and you can't move it around until you're outside the vent again. This makes hitting some enemies that you can already see while still being inside the vent not possible because they are standing left or right from your crosshair position and you can't aim until you're not in the vent anymore. No idea why you can't move the mouse around during vent slides. It sure does work fine when sliding down a longer ramp. Please make it so that you can aim also when doing vent slides.

5. In two places I got stuck and could not continue moving forward. Both times it was happening in a room that had some boxes positioned in a corner. I don't remember the exact level anymore unfortunately. Maybe there are a couple more spots where you could still get stuck. Might be worth having another look at it.

6. Not a bug or so but more something that felt wrong to me: When those wallrunning parts where introduced into the mix it always felt weird to me.

Probably because from playing games like Ghostrunner or SPRAWL I was very used to having to use my jump in order to get attached to one of those walls and then running from one end to the other. Here in this game it feels like all you have to do is just running forward + left/right to do the wallrun.

I think I would enjoy these parts more if those walls where moved higher up so that you had to use your jump to reach them. Also I would really like to have the automatic jump happening at the end of a wallrun being removed or an option to turn it off being added.

7. Jumping in general feels a bit too high and your character staying mid-air feels a bit like being on the Moon at times. Especially when you're in a room with a lower ceiling you'll notice that when you jump you kinda bonk your head against the ceiling

8. A small QoL feature request: When low on time (red zone) it would be nice to have a sound playing that indicates that. There was often so much stuff happening on screen that it was hard for me to always keep an eye on my Timer/HP and so I sometimes dashed past a few enemies thinking I had enough time to do that only to find out that I was already almost down to 0 and that the last dash was the final mistake that would get me killed.

That's all for the moment. All of this was experienced using Version 1.1b13b (GOG) so I don't know if some of this stuff is fixed in the latest version that includes the Boss Rush mode. This update has unfortunately not been added there yet (hopefully soon™).

I encountered more stuff that feels broken on Hard or in general.

1. Doors open in the wrong way pushing enemies towards or even behind me which robs me of my chance to get another kill for that much needed time bonus.

2. Hit detection seems to be hit and miss at times. I had moments where a headshot would work, then other times it wasn't. Also when I used the Katana and one of those Spider-Robots was standing right in front of me swinging at its head did absolutely no damage and I died from a melee attack shortly after.

3. Damage from Lasers seems to sometimes instakill you.

4. Sometimes the enemy positions at the start of a level can be a very rough and unfair in combination with laser traps. You want to jump over a laser but then you end up also jumping over one of the enemies that was moving forward and then you have enemies in front of you and that one enemy behind you and no real room to dodge incoming attacks.

5. The next run after you die, hit "Retry" and select one of your start upgrades feels weird. Suddenly it feels like I have double the movement speed and all enemies seem to one-shot me.

6. You can get stuck on enemies when you land on them after doing a jump or a fall to the ground.

Another BIG QoL request: make enemies stand out against the background more. It is sometimes very hard for me to see the enemies (especially those Chainsaw Robots when standing in front of a fan or in a corner).

Will anything of this ever be patched?
