Any tips on Katana and Rifles strategy?

I do fine with shotgun, revolver, and smg.

But, I am struggling with keeping the momentum with rifles in general.

Katana throws are nice, but I have no clue how to push forward with it.

So, any tips on how to use those 2 weapons types effectively?

Otherwise, reolver or shotgun with infinite ammo are a blast, and smg is pure brrr fun.

Katana = W+SHIFT+LMB. Got through hard with katana only, killed every boss with it. Fastest level 12secs, longest lvl 35secs. All I did is dashing forawrad and pressing LMB constantly.

Railgun and ballistic rifles require you to strafe alot because of their slow speed, so you need constantly strafe, stop or go back behind cover. These weapons are the slowest and every level can take more than a minute with them. Regular rifle is a railgun but with less damage and no AoE, so just ignore it.

Plasma rifle on other hand is crappier smg. Slower projectiles and shooting speed but higher damage. Only good if you play on difficulties lower than hard, because it's a bodyshot gun, smg is much better at headshots. Regarding playstile it plays like a mix between an smg and revolver.

Railgun and plasma rifle are not great but they're definitely workable at level 3. Play on an early chapter a few times until you get them to stay at level 3 (usually it seems to take getting to level 3 twice to make a weapon stay at level 3 but not always).

The Railgun I find to be easy but boring. Even with the level 3 double fire rate it can be a slog. Just always get headshots (I think it has a wider damage area so if you aim somewhere near the head you still get a headshot) and take every opportunity to kick an enemy to their death.

The Plasmagun is straight up bad for anything except bosses. If it were bad but fun I might try to think of a way to make it work but it's bad and boring so I would recommend not bothering. Embarassingly, I died a few times to the final boss while using a level 3 SMG so I switched to the level 3 Plasmagun, it melted him super fast. That was pretty cool.

Is there a balistic rifle? why do I have no recollection of this? I just beat the game yesterday lmao

Katana I hate. Why is the Fire Katana's level 3 upgrade just 1 free finisher kill per level? That's practically useless.

Also Ice Katana is GARBAGE. You throw it and freeze someone instead of just killing them. Weird but I guess the point is you kick them after? But then why is it that every time I throw it and immediately go for a kick I just dash into the enemy without kicking them? What?
