Swimming bug - need help

I seem to be getting stuck with the swimming section in The L. This is the area where you flood a large section so you can climb up the other side of a broken ramp. I can't tell if I am doing something wrong or it's a bug. Two things happen. One is that I am stuck on the surface of the water (after turning the vale and flooding the section). I've tried swimming, holstering, jumping and all combos of those. I can't get up on the platform. I just fall to the bottom and sometimes get stuck in the tangle of the broken footway. Also when I back up facing that platform I am trying to climb, I get stuck within the platform in the centre . It's like my head is sticking through the metal flooring. If it's a bug, is there a work-around of a cheat code that will let me get past it?

Its a game breaking bug, you have to perform a perfect jump to clear this section, many people have had the same problem, its something they should have fixed but didnt, 99 times out of 100 your going to miss the jump, the best thing to do is try noclip and just float up to it.

Turning on vsync for a sec allows you to climb up. There is no need for a perfect jump.

I know this is old but I have never played FEAR so I'm playing it now and I can confirm that I was having this EXACT same bug and turning v-sync sorted me out. thanks for the tip! :-)

If you approach the other side of the broken bridge from the rail side, you should be able to jump up on the bottom edge of that rail etc. then up and over. It's a bit tricky, but can be done.

Had the same problem here trying to make this jump & getting stuck in the water. I ended up just swimming up to the broken walkway, turning my back to it & then moved backwards which put me right up on it. OG trick.

Hah found this thread after getting stuck here for a couple of minutes and figuring that it was a common bug. No V-Sync needed, this one did the trick!

Just went through this section of the game - you can get up the piece in the water but it's a real pain in the a$$ - I had to ultimately go at the platform from an angle and I made it up eventually. Just awful map design by the developers there.

It's very frustating to not be able to do a simple jump because of a bug

Didn't know you could do that. I've been forced to swim to the broken platform, quicksave the game, and then reload that save in order to proceed. And even then it takes like 6 or 7 loads to work.

That didn't work for me, and I had v-sync on literally the whole game.

Just use lower resolution, I play at 2k and go 1080p, jump work first time

Interesting. I eventually was forced to holster my weapon to make it work. Granted even then it still took several tries, but at least I didn't have to quicksave right before that jump, and then reload the save....
