I think of Extraction Point as an extended epilogue to Fear 1. It feels like a natural continuation of the events in the original game.
So far, I've finally made my way to the Epilogue after putting in 30-40 minutes here and there over the past 2 weeks. The AI is still pretty good and better than a lot of other FPS I've played over the years. I'm still impressed by how FarCry upped the AI level years back and how so many games still can't reach that level....anyway....
I don't find the game scary and I still don't understand why Fettel is back, perhaps the last level of the game will explain it. Right now the story is meh and the gameplay is just as I remember the first FEAR game.
I have noticed the one thing that bugged me in the first FEAR game is still in EP - when you throw a grenade, almost immediately (even when the bad guys can't see you or the grenade) they yell to take cover! Grenade! And they all attempt to scatter. Or times when I toss a grenade and it blows up on someone and I duck back behind a corner before it explodes and I hear all the death screams, I come back out and no one is dead and I have to still shoot them all. So there are some bugs, but not game breaking.
It's an okay shooter. I'm just not overly impressed, but maybe that's because the game is dated.
