Interval 2 Holiday Crashing
So after many crashes from "The L" level, I looked at the discussions here and found out that by changing the gameini file to 0, many people found the problem fixed. It appears to have worked for me as well, but this is now causing the "Holiday" level to crash.

It's the exact same problem like what happened in "the L" level: once you have rendered 3 or more people on screen at the same time, the game freezes completely, which is exactly what happens at the beginning of the level when you're fighting replicas with Holiday. Changing the gameini files to 0 does NOT solve it.

Anyone have any solutions?

Not sure if it would help, but do you have the 4GB virtual memory patch?

I do not. So far the only thing I've done I turned the graphics to low, but only up until I reach the 1st checkpoint in that level (right after the replica battle with Holiday). Only tried it once so far, but at least that one worked.

After that, I turned the graphics back to where I once set it, and surprisingly enough, there was no longer any freezing problems, even when the game had to render more than 3 enemies.

I'm just trying to see if there's a way to get past that part in the level WITHOUT having to turn all the graphics to low.

After all, people said the same freezing problem with "the L" level, but this was solved by simply changing the gameini file to 0. In the "Holiday" level, this was NOT the solution.

You might be able to use the cheat code "maphole" to just skip the level entirely for now. You type it in "chat" with keybind "T" I think.

I'm playing through again for the first time in a couple of years and haven't played that level yet. If it crashes on me in the same spot and I figure something out, I'll update you.

I don't think it'll help, but here's the link for the 4GB patch in case you wanted to try it out: https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371

Yeah I know about the cheat codes. In the early days I used the "guns" cheat just to test out which weapons are more effective against which enemies.

I'm going to continue testing with EP too. Haven't run THAT many tests yet, so I'll need to run more myself as well.

Update: Ok so it's the same situation with "the L" level: if you can just get past the FIRST enemy encounter, then it's just fine the rest of the way.

But unlike "the L" changing the gameini to 0 and texture resolution to medium doesn't seem to solve the problem. Well, the latter did until last night when it suddenly froze again (so I'll need to do more testing).

Anyone found a solution to this?
