Disconnection from Server - F I X -

Till half way i could play this Fear game fine, but then it started to give a error message;

"Disconnection from Server"

Didn't matter what i tried, kept getting that message. Only playing the next day seemed to fix that till i did get later on the same message again. So i read some forums etc and found the
solution for it;

Set in Menu all your Performance and Graphic settings to a absolute Minimum, and turning "Force Restart on". Then load the last Save file. As soon as the game has started again set all your graph and performance settings back to what you desire, and play on.

From this time i didn't had that "Disconnection from Server" error anymore, not one time!
However, i did had at least ones in each level that my screen went completely black, with only a large error on it from my mouse. But that only took about 1,5 sec or so and then i could play on. I guess that at those places i otherwise had a crash or again that error message.
Don't know why i fixed it so easely, but it worked fine.

Am playing on windows 10 by the way, and the game came with the complete FEAR pack that i just bought on Steam sale, should that be of any interest to you.

What work for me 100% fix is for main and both expansion i created a new profile, i mean yes you have to re-config you buttons but that doesn't take long.

Isn't it earlier to just launch steam in offline mode? That seems to work for me

Is there anyway to do this AND keep my 1080 res? Setting the settings to low and then increasing them doesnt keep my custom res.

The graphic settings don't matter.
I turned "Force Restart on". And restarted the game, then everything worked just fine.

I don't have the steam version but I do have the GOG version and that error happens too, and the other solution is to put an additional patch that adjusts the same game, it's called 4gb patch, you can download it here (or search using the PCGamingWiki

The patch is so that it can run correctly on current PCs and it takes up a lot of space, it's less than 1mb xD
