Why did they change the name and rip US owners off of trading cards?
What is the deal? Bought the game thinking it was the same as Battle vs Chess, add cards to the US version too, never seen this and have over 1,000 steam games.

Nah for some reason it's on for the Battle vs Chess game I guess Euro only? Weird

No idea if they plan on adding cards to the US edition, 2.79 wasted for me so far...

they probably will and it was to be battle vs chess but they got sued by the people that own battle chess.

It was WORLDWIDE before they changed the name, so not only we don,t get cards but also, we need to rebuy the game to get the DLCs, it's a total joke.

Also I just had a coupon drop for the old title, and it seems that the coupon just doesn't work now.

They lost a lawsuit with the folks who own the Battle Chess name, forcing them to change the name of the game and cancelling the Wii release a few years back. I imagine the company is working hard to get folks to rebuy instead of relicensing to cover costs.

a real shame too, have wanted this for a while, they ahve it in a bundle at IndieStars , the base game + both DLCs for 3.99. But no cards? and bad drm and only 1 installation?...a real shame as It' just looks like too much uncertain drama for the game no matter how good it is. :sadpanda:

And then the Dev who used that little legal loophole to get rid of the competition (She basically rant o a US copyright court and registered it even knowing this game was already released befoere she started making hers...it's a little copyright loophole she took advatage of to rid her of the competition only to THEN ABANDON the game she done it for. You can go to the page for her game "Battle Chess" and there ya go.

I really wish Steam would work out the name change/DLC file association/Card problem, as this is, pretty much the only polished working decent battle chess game, with even DLCs, despite the rediculous DRM that we have.

Never buy rom Steam itself anym,ore anyway. If yoju want the real BVC game, from the ther thread's explanation, get the key from Bundlestars or Gamebundle and it will be the real BVC version, not this rip off.

you mean that this is not BvC if thats true then BvC is not BvC. this is only the renamed version that is all.
