good news people, got online working with my friend :), there is something ya gotta install though.

we used a program called Hamachi, its easy to use... just download it, then ya create a room with a password, you give the info to your friend who then logs in to your room.

then you both get an IP address from hamachi, you will see it in the window, connect to your friend using this hamachi ip address via direct connection.

for some reason my friend could not connect to mine, however i could connect to his... we are playing right now.

what this program does is creates a virtual private network between you and whoever connects to your room in hamachi. if you have file sharing enabled they might be able to see your shared files, so keep this in mind and disable any shared things you want to keep private..... although i assume your only giving the info to friends to connect anyhow, so shouldnt be too much of a problem, just keep it in mind though.

awsome, just wanted to let people know there are ways, since for some reason trying to connect by normal ip does not seem to work.

and my friend already had hamachi installed, so it was easier.. works well.

thanks for the input though, it is a fun game so the more people who know different methods the better it will be.
