Battle vs Chess

Save not, Chess not
I'm sorry, this has probably been told already but I really wanted to buy this game, since I know it's impossible to save a game I think I will change my mind.

I mostly play chess with my wife, we have kids and not a lot of time to play a full game in a row.
So we need to save and continue later.
Lot of games of chess have this option and for me it is difficult to imagine the devs forgot about this important feature.
I mean, chess games can be very long so if you make a video game of it, it has to have a saving option.

Is there any mod able to do it? I read somewhere the dev could not change de code and would probably never add this feature. What now?

Uh... Sorry, but I don't think there is a solution that lets you save the game the way you've described. Although, I don't see why you'd want to pay for this game when there are alternative free chess apps with the feature you require. For example, if you have an iphone- you can get the free "chess.com" app- it saves the game, and has a feature that lets two players play against eachother on your phone (plus a bundle of other things). Or, if you prefer the 3d board and have windows 8- you could get the free "3d chess game" from the App Store.

Hope that helps ^-^

Thank you for your answer. I already have smartphone chess apps and classic games on my PC. I was just looking for sometghing more funny, and Battle Vs Chess' animations seemed to change a bit from a normal game. The One-Player-original-modes look interesting but I'm not sure it worths it knowing that I don't usually play alone.

I will keep thinking but I will stay with the idea that create a chess game without saving option is a bit strange and inappropirate.

Well, if its just animations you want, have you seen Battlechess? Its another steam chess game with animations, it might be worth checking if that one saves games if you're interested

Ive been really impressed with 'Shredder' Chess for Android/mobile...there is a free version too I believe..

Its become my only Chess game right now...well, apart from Battle Vs for the mooment : D (which I am finding quite fun and interesting...but I am a long standing Chess addict, and so easily pleased with novelty :KOh:)

Anyway, Shredder allows saving..AND you can play on your PC/Laptop online in a browser (though maybe not with the free version....at least not to have results added to your stats/rating....)

I really love the move analyser and a number of other advanced features that other games dont really have or are not quite as welll implemeneted...also a massive moves library..

Most importantly I find the Ai a swine...though of course this is always pretty subjective....except to real Pros !

I do reccomend the Shredder though..worth a try at least.

I wouldnt just ignore this game either just because of the save game thing (I was unaware of this...due to GFWL shutdown is it? Or was just never in the game?)

There are a LOT of modes and various puzzles that take hardly any time at all to play through...its quite cleverly 'pick up and play' for a chess game I think!

I havent even played it at standard chess yet, and Ive been playing it all night : D

If you are a chess fan then you cant really go wrong with this game...its a welll done bit of work....

Thanks a lot for your comment, I will go see what's in this Shredder. About BvsC, you kind of convinced me and I will maybe give it a try finally...

I know this is old but just stumbled across it on google. Does anyone know if battle vs chess has implemented a save feature yet?

I'm exactly the same - not going to buy a chess game I can't even save my progress. Wtf? All they effort they put into designing this game then omit such a fundamental basic (and easy to implement!) feature. Come on devs, really.

I want to buy the game but thankfully I noticed on one of the reviews it doesn't have a save feature. Unless that's changed since then, my money's staying in my pocket.
