You lost me at the pickup truck.
The trailer looked so good, nice visuals, big battles, and then you bring in a pickup truck and wacky music.

So sad. I'll just stick to Mount and Blade.

Couldn't you just, not use the pickup truck? And there's no magic in the game because there's no magic in the game. Simple. The them is "you bring stuff from the future and use it." We don't have magic in the future. Stop trying to use logic in an F'in video game jesus christ.

No, because the pickup truck is always there, lurking in the background, ruining the experience with its presence.

It is indicative of a non-serious game design that likely permeates the entire experience.
I still don't see how having a modern vehicle in a game where you travel back in time with your modern gear somehow ruins your experience or immersion, considering that's literally the point of the game: using modern stuff to fight in medieval times.

Yeah. Modern stuff and not a goofy pick-up truck.

For me the pick-up truck per se is not the problem, but also the way it drives into the fight. It just makes no sense and is dorky. (And thus does not promise a funny and cool game.)

An armoured troop carrier? This would be cool. An armoured motorcycle (like some kind of future warhorse)? THIS would be cool.
Such an intro would still be silly, but not like the pick-up truck. This is just stupid.

My bad I wasn't aware pick-up trucks were wacky ancient technology

No problem.
While I would not call it ancient, it is not modern (at least the one in the trailer). On the other hand we still have terrorist countries (at least one) using WWI trucks to drive into the enemy lines, so mayhaps not even we today have modern stuff.
