I don't understand the lake. I can see that certain flowers and fountains are active and inactive, but I can't see how the lake matches up with the island.

Just gonna bump this thread to say that yes, the lanterns are the lasers, the clams are the theater puzzles, the fountains are the monoliths, and the flowers are audio logs. The yellow flowers are No, seriously, this is a major spoiler!audio logs found in the secret area(s) of the game.
