Major issues with Ruined Village [spoilers]
Am I the only who has spent over 16 houres of gameplay and yet can't solve the ruined village? I learned every symbol, all colouring etc, yet none of the puzzels I can solve at all. This one for example:

WTH is that. I just can't solve it no matter what. I went up to the tower to realise there's nothing to see or at least that I'm not seeing the clue. I'm now trying to look at every crickety crackety in the level design and around the puzzle, but nothing comes to mind.

I was thinking maybe something in the lattice / frame. But then again, it there could be something else on the island with a pattern that shows how to solve it. Similar to the James Burke video in the theater underneath the Windmill .

Any thoughts on this one? I'm stuck : (

That one is relatively simple You need to have the dot and the ventilator inside the same area, while collecting all black dots. The ventilator will remove the dot itself, so you don't have to go finding how to isolate that dot, since it's impossible. That's the concept of the ventilator, it filters out an error in order to let the puzzle through

The ruined village is nasty. I am in the middle of it right now. It has multiple starting points, and puzzles that can't be solved without solving puzzles nearby first, kind of like the tree temple. There's A LOT of environmental stuff, mixed in with basic grids.

The first puzzle you you show there is in a ruined church with an easy way in, and a locked door. That locked door seems mandatory to solve the puzzle. To solve it though, you need to solve ANOTHER puzzle nearby, And yet, that's not enough.

It's by far the most challenging area for me thus far.

On the ventilator remember it has some limitations, shared with, for instance, the eraser. Solving the puzzle that has just white, black and two ventilators in the windmill might provide inspiration.

Yea, exactly. I have all the knowledge, I know all the possible stuff, but the puzzles are too demanding. They're really not made for a game, this feels more like a contest for: who is the best Einstein. If you spend 8 years of development in puzzles, I think that at least you should aknowledge what is fun and what is becoming a pain. If everything learned on the island barely helps me to understand the puzzles, then I don't think it succeeded (partially) in its goal. I'll keep trying but if there's a tutorial available, sorry to say, I'm not gonna waste any more time, because it currently feels like it does. It's sad though, because ONLY the village made me feel it this was so far, and sad enough the village was designed to be that: the last segment to solve...

Best explaination. Are there tutorial puzzles for this application? Maybe I have not explored enough.

Are these names documented somewhere (ventilator, eraser) or just common on the forums?

You need to visit the Quarry for this (and the Logging)

The names are just as found on the forums.

Get to the shore near the flower lab - there's a port where you can summon a boat. On that boat is a map, and on that map are marks of TUTORIAL ZONES for each puzzle element (so where there's a mark of a star, there's a tutorial for the 8-spike stars; where there's a symbol of a tetromino, there you will learn about tetrominos).

If you opened the door directly in front of this puzzle, you can look at the puzzle from outside. In that case, you can position yourself in such a way that something will be partially obstructing the puzzle, making only one path through it possible.

The VILLAGE/TOWN is the final section - the culmination of all tricks and magic. Unless you have solved all other areas, don't even try. :-)

As mentioned above, the village is the final place to be solving. This puzzle/picture you've linked, there are puzzles identical to it in another region of the map, go back and check to see how you solved those, and it'll spark your memory into how you can solve this one. The village doesn't have any extra challenges, they are all exactly as taught around the entire island.
