Help with a puzzle in the treehouse area.

After experimenting with this for a good hour, I am now completely stumped and ask for help. I am not sure if it is even possible, but I want to make sure. So:

Is it possible in any way to solve this puzzle so you get to the left exit? Top and right aren't a problem.

Yes, it's possible to reach any exit in all treehouse puzzles with multiple exits. Keep them cogs cranking. ;)

EDIT: if you're ready to give up, here's a hint from my solution: it has areas with exactly one "pair" in them each.
