So just to clarify, if I ever see that 2x2 tetris symbol with the gap in the middle again, will that always mean that there should be two blocks in the middle as the separator? I thought maybe in game only one space was required, but that would make sense if this two block separation rule is consistent throughout every puzzle it appears in.
I have also found solutions I thought valid which were rejected. Sometimes I eventually figure out what's wrong with them but there's one particular one used for opening the mountain which I still cannot see anything wrong with, weeks after coming up with it and having the game act like it's wrong.
There are two spaces between the four blocks in that shape, indicating that there HAS to be two spaces between the two 2x1 shapes.
In the proposed solution there is only one space between the 2x1 blocks. The accepted solution has two.
If it's any concolation, I was also thrown off by this puzzle because the 'obvious' solution didn't work. It took me a moment to notice why this solution was invalid but since this 'separated' symbol was the only ambivalent one I could make ends match rather quickly.
