RGB light puzzle in village

I'm sure I solved this before (I should probably try to dig up the graph paper notebook I was using at the time)... Am I correct that in order to solve the puzzle you have to find a solution that works for each of the three light colors? Or is it something else, like, you have to work out what the colors of the stars are and you're really only solving one puzzle? (Also if there's some website or steam guide that specializes in hints rather than just showing the solutions, I'd be happy to just be pointed to that.)

If you look at the puzzle under red light, even disregarding the other two colors, this one seems to be impossible to solve on its own as a black/white puzzle.

You "simply" need to find a single solution that satisfies the solution conditions set forth by each of the three "separate" puzzles.

That's basically the same, but easier because you see the whole picture at once.
The same because same colors seen with separate colored lights will be the same, while different colors may or may not be different.
