Quick followup question, any chance the work around will also accommodate those of us with WUXGA (1920x1200) Displays. Stretching the vertical resolution (1080 to 1200) is less than ideal.

In Library in the steam client, right click on The Witness and go to:
Properties -> GENERAL -> SET LAUNCH OPTIONS...
set the options to:
-width 3440 -height 1440
(or whatever resolution you want it to render to)

I think that Mr.Oats means that it would be nice if whatever patch that corrects this, such as with an in-game resolution setting, allows for the same selection of higher-than-native resolutions that we can do with this temporary launch option workaround.
Just to make an obvious point, if you're downsizing resolution to 1080p (my monitor is 1200p) for Steam Link use make sure you turn off the fullscreen option in settings to avoid the black bars.
